Friends and relatives of Jennifer Hudson listened to spiritual songs and reminisced about her late mother, brother and nephew at a memorial service this evening in Chicago.
The service took place at the church the singer and
Oscar-winning actress attended as a child.
Many of those songs featured Hudson, who did not attend. Her
sister Julia also wasn't there.
Private funeral services for the slain family members are
scheduled for tomorrow.
The bodies of 57-year-old Darnell Donerson and 29-year-old Jason
Hudson were discovered Oct. 24 at the family's home. Three days
later the body of seven-year-old Julian King was discovered in an
SUV on the city's West Side.
No one has been charged in the killings, although authorities
have called Julia Hudson's estranged husband, William Balfour, a
"person of interest."
Chicago police spokeswoman Monique Bond says investigators are
"still processing evidence."
