CHICAGO - Authorities say 38 suspects in three states are
facing federal narcotics charges in an investigation of an alleged
heroin- and cocaine-trafficking ring based in Chicago.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in Chicago on Wednesday announced
multiple arrests in Chicago; in Cincinnati, Ohio, and in Laredo,
In a statement, U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald says the case
is part of an overall effort to disrupt drug-trafficking
organizations in Chicago.
The prosecutor's office says the investigation initially focused
on Chicago, then expanded to include other cities.
In the investigation, authorities have made numerous seizures,
