COLUMBUS, Ohio - U.S. House Speaker John Boehner (BAY'-nur)
drew laughs from an audience at Ohio State University with a joke
about the name of a colleague involved in a scandal over lewd
photos.
Boehner said Sunday during a commencement speech at Ohio Stadium that his own last name has been pronounced to rhyme with the words honor and leaner and even "boner."
Then he said: "Thank God it's not Weiner."
Boehner got emotional several times during his brief speech to
thousands of graduates and about 40,000 of their relatives and
friends.
He encouraged students to work hard, be humble and
persevere.
He said they should not be afraid to occasionally shed a
tear of thanks for the gifts in their lives.
The Cincinnati-area Republican was awarded an honorary doctorate of public service.
