SOMERVILLE, N.J. - Authorities say a man accused of attacking his roommate in New Jersey with a broken beer bottle has been arrested in Texas after nearly four years on the lam.
Kenedy County Sheriff's Officers apprehended Nicolas Espinoza-Ortiz at a checkpoint.
The 44-year-old has been wanted since his roommate, Artemio Medina, was stabbed with a beer bottle in their Montgomery Township, N.J., home in September 2008.
Authorities say Espinoza-Ortiz fled to Mexico.
He waived extradition and is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and other charges.
It's not known whether he has a lawyer.
