ORLANDO The Orlando Sentinel reports that a car on fire, Wednesday night, caused a wildfire that quickly consumed 50 acres in Brevard County, Florida.

National Weather Service officials used that fire to remind residents of The Sunshine State that wildfire season has begun and will not peak until the Spring.

Orlando, Florida is running 5 inches below average when it comes to rainfall -- which puts them in an "Extreme Drought" classification.

Rain is in the forecast heading into the weekend -- however, it will likely only be a temporary fix to the problem.
