NEW YORK Investors are staying calm on the first day of a partial government shutdown.
Stocks have been moderately higher so far today. It's a sign that, at least for now, investors aren't anticipating that the stalemate will cause enough disruption in the economy to threaten a gradual U.S. recovery and a four-year bull market.
