MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - The president of a New Hampshire YWCA where a father killed himself and his 9-year-old son during a supervised visit says someone determined to carry out violence will do so regardless of security measures.

Fifty-four-year-old Muni Savyon of Manchester shot his son and then himself Sunday. Authorities say he had been subject to a metal detector scan for previous visits but wasn't on Sunday. Monica Zulauf, the center's president, wouldn't discuss details of the case, but she says the center does as much as it reasonably can to provide a safe place for visits.

Zulauf says that beyond security measures, the focus should be on urging the public to intervene when they see or hear something troubling.
