Gov. Rick Perry is welcoming President Barack Obama ahead of his visit to Austin this week.
Perry told reporters Monday he would "certainly be happy" to join Obama when the president returns to Texas for the second time in two weeks. Obama is scheduled to visit a suburban Austin high school and a tech company Thursday to talk about the economy.
Perry said following the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston that he doesn't know whether he's been invited to tag along with Obama. He added that if Obama is coming to Texas to talk jobs, "he certainly came to the right place for that."
Obama was in Dallas last week for the unveiling of the George W. Bush Presidential Library.
