Louisiana's Republican party chairman says today's presidential primary in his state will have an important impact on the race however it turns out.
Rick Santorum is looking to rebound after a decisive loss to Mitt Romney in Illinois this week.
Newt Gingrich could claim his campaign is revived with a win, while Romney is looking to prove he can win in the South.
Romney is far ahead of Santorum in the race for delegates to the Republican National Convention, and he's been beating Santorum in big Midwestern states. But a Santorum win today would serve as a reminder that the former Massachusetts governor still struggles among core conservatives, especially in the South.
