Montgomery County and U.S. Forest Service officials are investigating the discovery of apparent human bones in the Sam Houston National Forest north of Conroe.
Detectives were summoned Saturday afternoon when the bones first
were spotted. A search of the area continued through Sunday. The
nature of how they were found was not immediately disclosed.
The bones have been taken to the Montgomery County Forensic
Center for analysis.
Sheriff's Lt. Bill Bucks said Monday no identification of the
remains has been made and no gender has been determined although
the bones are believed to be the remains of an adult.
