Tornado Touches Down in Norman, OK

NORMAN, Okla. -- The National Weather Service confirms that a tornado has touched down in Norman, Okla.

Forecaster Daryl Williams says the twister touched down shortly after 4 p.m. Friday near State Highway 9 and near the University of Oklahoma campus. He says there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

The tornado was part of powerful storm system that is expected to rumble through the nation's midsection over the weekend.
