US Holiday Travelers Brace for Foul, Wet Weather

CHICAGO Unusually warm weather in the East and very cold air in the Midwest could spell trouble for travelers this weekend. Forecasters say a storm could produce a variety of nasty conditions from Texas to northern New England. Areas on the northern edge could see 6-12 inches of snow, thunderstorms could soak the South and areas in between may have to contend with an icy mix. Significant ice accumulations have already been seen in Oklahoma, southern Missouri and northern Arkansas.

Authorities say two people have died in separate weather-related auto accidents in Oklahoma. The weather has also caused the cancellation of a dozen flights today in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
