U.S. stock futures are slightly higher, following a rise in European markets on hopes that Greece will reach a deal with private creditors on lowering its debt.

Dow futures are up 24 points at 12,678. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 futures are up 2 points at 1,312. The Nasdaq composite is up 4 points at 2,439.

On a day with little economic news on the calendar, all eyes are on Greece's negotiations to reduce its crushing debt. Greek officials say negotiations on the private debt writedown are continuing over the phone.

Greece will likely be the main topic at a meeting later of the 17 eurozone finance ministers in Brussels.

Only a handful of markets were open in Asia, with most closed in observance of Chinese New Year.
