FORT COLLINS, Colo. - An 800-acre wildfire is burning near homes in northern Colorado amid gusty winds and warm weather and has prompted more than 50 people to leave the area.

The fire began Friday west of Fort Collins and is burning near the scene of a large wildfire last summer that burned 259 homes and killed one person.

Authorities say firefighters have saved two homes and a state park visitors center from the flames but no homes have been destroyed.

Hundreds of evacuation orders have been issued.

Some people believed to be hiking in a state park were unaccounted for, but a sheriff's spokesman says they were not believed to be in imminent danger. Park rangers are looking for them.
