Police say six people escaped from a Dallas-area house fire, but the body of a toddler has been found in the burned residence.

Carrollton police spokesman Officer Dustin Bartram says the body of a 2-year-old boy has been recovered in house, where a fire broke out early Friday. The name of the victim has not been released.

Police say a man, his girlfriend and five boys were in the residence, but the youngest child was unable to escape.

The cause of the blaze is still unknown.
