Texas Task Force 1 Activated for Potentially Severe Storms

Texas Task Force 1 is ready and waiting with Texas facing severe weather possibilities.

A Type 1 Urban Search and Rescue team of the task force was activated Monday by the Governor's Division of Emergency Management. The team consists of 80 members.

Equipment and personnel will be staged in College Station.

Six swift water rescue squads are on standby. Austin, San Antonio and Ft. Worth will each be home to a pair of squads.

Severe weather, including tornadoes, are possible throughout the state late Monday and early Tuesday.
