By: Associated Press

Attorneys for former Enron CEO Jeffrey Skilling today will appeal his 2006 convictions over his role in the Houston-based energy giant's 2001 collapse.

A three-judge panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans is expected to consider if Skilling's conviction was rightfully obtained.
Skilling and Enron founder Kenneth Lay were convicted in May 2006
on 19 counts of fraud, conspiracy, insider trading and lying to
auditors.

Skilling is serving a 24-year sentence.
