BAYTOWN, Texas (AP) - Baytown police are trying to figure out
who abandoned a pickup full of pot along Interstate 10.
Authorities say the truck with Louisiana license plates yielded
nearly 1,200 pounds of marijuana -- in bundles. The street value is
estimated at $300,00.
The marijuana was discovered yesterday in the covered truck bed
and in the cab.
Investigators believe the truck might have had mechanical
trouble.
Police also are trying to determine if the pickup was stolen.
Baytown is about 25 miles east of Houston.
