Thursday afternoon, a McLennan County jail inmate who walked away from a work-detail near Mart on Tuesday is in custody again.
A deputy arrested 32 year old Marc Hirst just before noon Thursday near the intersection of Highway 6 and Highway 164 east of Waco.
The McLennan County Sheriff’s Office had received a tip from a resident who had spotted Hirst in the area.
The deputy found Hirst walking across the road near the highway intersection.
Hirst was described as tired and hungry.
The arrest came as deputies were searching on the ground and from the air for a third day for the escapee, who broke into a home and stole a shotgun, ammunition and clothes late Tuesday night.
Hirst was wearing only boxer shorts when he fled from the work detail at the county’s Precinct 2 work barn.
Hirst was locked up earlier this month on drug charges.
