Port Arthur Refinery Shut Down After Power Outage

PORT ARTHUR, Texas (AP) - A power outage has forced Motiva
Enterprises to shut down its Port Arthur refinery.
Company officials say the Port Arthur plant, which converts
about 275,000 barrels of crude oil a day, started a shutdown of
operations after the facility lost power around 11 a.m. Monday.
The cause of the power outage has not been determined. It was
not known when operations would resume.
Motiva has 14 days to submit a final report about the shutdown
to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, which will then
investigate the incident.
