2 Killed in Early Morning Car-Train Crash in Killeen

KILLEEN (November 9, 2012)--Two people are dead after an early morning car-train crash in Killeen.

Killeen police officials tell KWTX that at around 2:10 a.m., a car hit a moving train near North College Street and East Avenue E in Killeen.

Officials believe that the drive of a car went around crossing guards when they were down, and then hit the train.

Two people were killed in the crash.

The driver of the vehicle was a male soldier, the passenger was a female.

Both of the victims were 26 years old.

Traffic in the area could be a problem for some time.

Avenue E is shut down from Gilmer to 195 (South Fort Hood Street).
