BURNET, Texas (AP) - Two people have been shot and two others arrested following gunfire in a Central Texas town that left police investigating two crime scenes.
Burnet police Chief Paul Nelson said Monday that one victim was transported to a Round Rock hospital and faced surgery. Nelson says the other injured person was treated and released from a hospital in Burnet, a town of about 6,000 located 50 miles northwest of Austin.
Police on Sunday night responded to reports of gunfire at an apartment complex and also near a hotel. Police believe the shootings are related.
Investigators say two men were detained on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police say one of the wounded individuals could also face charges.
Police did not immediately provide additional details Monday.
