A 20-year-old Fort Worth man has received an automatic life sentence without parole for the robbery and fatal shooting of a teenager in 2010.

Damian Lamon Murkledove was convicted Friday in the death of 18-year-old Daniel Garner, an Everman High School graduate who lived with his mother and four foster children. Because prosecutors did not seek the death penalty, Murkledove automatically received life.

Prosecutors said Murkledove and two others, who are yet to face trial, went to Garner's house to commit a burglary. Garner, who was playing a video game, was shot five times.
