Game wardens and fire rescue crews are using this holiday weekend as a solemn reminder for Texans that the state leads the nation in boating deaths.
They are out in force this weekend, looking for unsafe boaters and people who are drinking too much.
Boating fatalities are down everywhere in the nation, except in Texas.
Last year, 52 people in Texas died in boating-related accidents.
That is the highest number of fatalities since 2002.
