DENTON, Texas (AP) - A Dallas-area soccer coach is jailed on one
million dollars bond on charges accusing him of sexually abusing
two girls.
Forty-seven-year-old Daniel Patrick Cassidy faces two counts of
aggravated sexual assault of a child and one charge of indecency
with a child.
He was booked into the Denton County Jail last week.
Cassidy, an engineer who is married and has four children, has
coached girls soccer for the Greater Lewisville Area Soccer
Association for the last three years.
The two girls he was charged with abusing are five and ten and
were neighbors of Cassidy at the time of the alleged crimes.
Highland Village police say neither girl was believed to be on
the team that Cassidy coached.
Authorities say Cassidy does not yet have an attorney.
