Are tanning beds good for you? The parent company of a local chain that makes that claim is now in trouble with the state.
The Texas Office of the Attorney General filed a lawsuit Monday against Darque Tan and its president. The suit accuses the company of unlawfully marketing its tanning beds as a way to increase the levels of Vitamin D, thereby reducing the risk of cancer. In doing so, Darque Tan is charged with violating the State and Federal Codes.
Tanning beds haven't been approved as a Vitamin D delivery devices or devices that reduce cancer risks.
Calls to the owner of the College Station Darque Tan were not returned.
