Residents across parts of Central Texas from Robinson to Valley Mills reported loud sounds and flashes of light in the sky at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
Space Exploration Technologies Corp. or SpaceX confirmed that crews were testing a 9-engine rocket called Falcon Nine at the company’s facility in McGregor west of Waco.
McGregor police and firefighters were notified and McGregor residents were reportedly notified ahead of time.
SpaceX reported the test was successful.
The loud roar of the test lasted for several minutes.
