HOUSTON -- Former first lady Barbara Bush is in good condition Thursday and has been moved to a regular room after undergoing surgery this week.
Methodist Hospital spokeswoman Ami Felker says Bush was in high spirits and was visiting with her husband family Thanksgiving afternoon.
The former first lady underwent surgery this week that involved a small incision to her abdomen. Her doctor says a small hole caused by an ulcer there was closed after the abdominal area was cleansed with fluid.
Dr. Pat Reardon says the first thing Bush did after she woke from surgery was tell a joke.
