Three people were injured when a car crashed into an outdoor furniture shop near a gas station in Copperas Cove Saturday afternoon.

It happened at the Cook's Mini Mart.

Witnesses say the driver of what they described as a speeding white sedan ran a stop sign and the car crashed into two San Antonio women who had stopped to do some last minute Christmas shopping at the store.

Both women suffered broken legs and were airlifted to Scott and White hospital in Temple.

The crash also injured the owner of the furniture shop who was taken to an area hospital for observation.

Police arrested the driver of the car, Taedo Nena, in connection with the accident.

He’s facing complaints charging intoxicated assault.
