East Texas Firefighters Die in Training Fall

KILGORE, Texas -- Two Kilgore firefighters were killed after falling from the roof of a high rise during a training exercise in East Texas.

Kilgore police say the men were injured Sunday when they fell from Stark Hall, a dormitory on the Kilgore College campus.

The firefighters were taken to a Longview hospital, where they died.

The two firefighters were identified as 45-year-old Kyle Perkins, of Kilgore, and 28-year-old Cory Galloway, of Grand Saline.

Two other Kilgore firefighters suffered minor injuries.

Kilgore police and fire departments are investigating.
