Investigators say three men have died after being shot when gunfire broke out at a Houston-area apartment.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says two men were dead at the scene around 10 p.m. Sunday.

KTRK-TV reported Monday that the third man died after being transported to a hospital.

Sgt. Greg Pinkens says there was no sign of forced entry and deputies have recovered evidence of several rounds being fired. Authorities are not sure who was responsible for the gunfire. Pinkens says nobody had been bound or tied up.

Further details were not immediately available.
