SAN ANTONIO (AP) Four people are dead after a fatal San Antonio crash in which their vehicle was struck by a driver fleeing police.

The Sunday evening crash occurred after two drivers confronting each other at an intersection. One driver had a handgun and appeared to threaten the other driver. A patrol officer in the area tried to intervene, pulling his vehicle between the two drivers.

A witness tells the San Antonio Express-News that the gun-wielding suspect got back into his car and raced away. The suspect eventually crashed into another vehicle carrying two adults and three children.

Everyone inside that vehicle except one of the children was killed.

Police did not identify the driver of the car that caused the crash or the victims. The driver was hospitalized and has been arrested.
