Police in Killeen are investigating the shooting death of a 4-year-old boy, which may have been accidental.
Authorities say in a news release that officers responded to a 911 call of a shooting at a residence just after 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
They found a 4-year-old boy who had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, and the child was transported to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in critical condition. He died just before 9:30 a.m.
Police say they are continuing to investigate but that they believe the shooting may have been an accident.
