CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) - Police say a 24-year-old Alice man
died after the vehicle he was riding in crashed while chasing
another vehicle that had fired paintballs at it.
Police identified the crash victim Monday as Aaron Rodriguez, a
front-seat passenger in a Ford Bronco that flipped after hitting
the GMC Yukon it was chasing early Sunday morning.
Police say the chase, which reached speeds of 80 mph, began
after someone in the Yukon fired paintballs at the Bronco.
The Bronco's driver, Joshua Black, was arrested on suspicion of
intoxication manslaughter and was being held in the Nueces County
Jail on a $250,000 bond.
Police Cmdr. David Torres told the Corpus Christi Caller Times
that the investigation continued and others could face charges. The
people in the two vehicles did not know each other.
