Retail sales have been slipping the last few months in Texas. Sales tax returns to local governments show sales were down about four percent from March of 08 to March of 09.

It seems to be a mix bag of returns for cities here in the Brazos Valley. The results really depend on where you live . Here are a few examples of what's happening in the area from the first quarter of 08 compared wiht the first quarter of 09.

Bryan +6.45
College Station -2.40%
Caldwell +17.61
Hearne -29.23%
Madisonville + 13.59%
Navasota -3.56%
Brenham + 8.56%
Somerville -5.30%
