BRAZORIA, Texas (AP) - A baby and her mother were found safe in Brazoria Friday after allegedly being abducted by the baby's father.
The father, Daniel Zaragoza, was arrested and taken in for questioning.
Officials had issued an Amber Alert for a mother and daughter believed to have been forcibly abducted in southeast Texas by the child's father.
Brazoria police say 23-year-old Daniel Zaragoza took 18-year-old Anna Karen Vera and seven-month-old Alexis Zaragoza from a local baseball field Thursday evening.
Police spokeswoman Linsy Longbotham said Daniel Zaragoza was recently taken into custody and charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon after restaurant employees called police and said he had a gun in his waist belt. He was released from jail March 31.
