AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - The Texas House has passed and sent to the
Senate to expand the list of tax-exempt goods during the
back-to-school sales tax holiday. Under the measure, parents
already used to saving taxes on their children's clothing would get
the same break on some school supplies, including notebooks, pens,
paper and backpacks. The sales tax break would apply to many school
supplies that cost under $100.
