The announcement Tuesday of a special session didn't surprise State Senator Steve Ogden.
Ogden says the senate asked Governor Perry to order the session. He says with the issue of unsold bonds for TxDOT still on the table, the extra time is needed to get it approved. "It's critically important to issue those bonds so that we can build highways in the state for the next two years," Ogden says. "I'll be particularly focused on getting the House to agree on the legislation that's necessary to sell those bonds."
The Bryan Republican says both houses agreed on TxDOT funding, but failed to vote on a separate bill to actually implement it.
