A sport utility vehicle slammed into an East Texas church daycare center, injuring the driver, a teacher and three children.
A police statement says the crash happened around midday Thursday at the Spring Hill First Baptist Church in Longview. Police say a 20-year-old man lost control of his SUV, veered through an open field and crashed through a utility pole before smashing into the church daycare center. About 30 children and a teacher were in the room at the time.
Libby Brison of Longview Regional Medical Center and Victoria Ashworth of Good Shepherd Medical Center said the teacher and children were treated for minor injuries and released. Ashworth said the driver was being evaluated.
