AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Austin police say five people were injured when a pickup slammed into a taco stand in Austin.
A police official tells the Austin American-Statesman that the driver, who is being investigated for drunk driving, left the scene after the crash in the early morning hours Monday.
Following a search of the area, the suspected 22-year-old male driver was found nearly two miles away.
The official says four people standing outside the taco stand at the time of the crash suffered minor to serious injuries and a cook inside suffered grease burns as a result of the impact.
The official says that of those outside the taco stand, a female victim suffered broken bones, while a male victim suffered major cuts and another suffered a broken pelvic bone.
