PASADENA - Houston-area police say a 5-year-old girl was hospitalized after being locked inside a running washing machine for several minutes at a laundromat.
Pasadena police say the girl was trapped in the washing machine on high speed when a customer noticed her. They say a woman had tried to use the machine at Le's Washateria and told a manager it wasn't working properly. Police say the woman moved to another machine before the child became trapped. It's unclear how the girl got inside or how it turned on.
The laundromat owner says an employee had to use circuit breakers to stop the machine.
The girl was airlifted to a Houston hospital. Police say they don't believe she suffered life-threatening injuries.
It's unclear who was watching the child. Police are investigating.
