Houston police say a man found slain at a house was the victim of an apparent ax attack.

The name of the victim was not immediately released Monday.

Police say the victim's girlfriend became worried Sunday night when he never picked her up after work.

Detective Thomas Griffin says relatives dropped the woman off at the house, leading to the discovery of her boyfriend's body. An ax was nearby.

Police located a man, who had lived with the victim, at a motel and questioned him.
