A tractor-trailer rig slammed into backed-up traffic on Interstate 35 near the Texas-Oklahoma border, killing at least three people.
Cooke County Sheriff Mike Compton says information remains sketchy, but he says three fatalities have been reported to his department from the noon Monday crash. He had no estimate of the number of other injuries.
The crash happened on I-35 northbound at a point near the Farm Road 1306 exit where two lanes narrow into one because of bridge construction. That's about two miles southwest of Gainesville and about 13 miles south of the Oklahoma border.
