At just 24 years old and with one promotion under his belt, Ryan Curry is an up and coming member of the Marlin Police Department.
"He is a great officer, outstanding, someone who you want on your side," says Marlin Interim Police Chief Darrell Allen.
Like many small town officers, Curry often supplements his police salary by working private security at area nightclubs. In fact, his Myspace profile, last updated this weekend, says "Working the club tonight".
"The different situations we are put in, have to put humor, you won't make it,"says Curry.
Now, Curry is trying to make it-by explaining a picture posted on his Myspace page.
Curry says the picture was taken by a fellow police officer one weekend at a nightclub in Waco and shows a suspect after being tasered.
In the picture, the suspect has an obvious wet spot on his pants and underneath the picture Curry wrote "Guy pissed all over himself after he got tased. hahaha."
"We need to do an in-house investigation on all the officers, shocking lack of sensitivity, image like this," Allen says.
That is not the only picture. In another, that Curry says was taken several years ago, Curry is shown posing in full uniform. Above the picture it says "Pimp of the year".
"Probably could be considered as lack of sensitivity but as a police officer desensitized to a lot of things people would be sensitive to," says Curry.
Either way, Curry says he is sorry and now his Myspace profile is marked private and is only accessible to his 178 friends.
