HOUSTON (AP) Eight people have been hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a car hit the back of a Metro bus in Houston.

Metro spokeswoman Margaret O'Brien Molina tells the Houston Chronicle the bus was at a bus stop when it was hit Wednesday morning.

Eight people, including the bus driver, car driver and a child, were hospitalized.

Molina says three passengers were on the bus during the wreck but it wasn't clear if they were among those hospitalized.

Several people Tuesday were sent to the hospital after a chain-reaction crash that Metro officials say started when a bus rear-ended a vehicle that stopped suddenly. The vehicle in front of the bus then rear-ended another vehicle, which collided with a fourth vehicle. The bus driver was cited for failure to control speed.
