A man accused of killing his pregnant wife, daughter and father-in-law and then setting fire to their home is headed back to Texas.
Tarrant County Sheriff's deputies were expected to arrive Thursday from San Diego with 34-year-old John Hummel.
He faces capital murder charges in the deaths earlier this month of 5-year-old Jody Hummel, Joy Hummel and 57-year-old Clyde "Eddie" Bedford. Joy Hummel was stabbed to death; her father and daughter died of head trauma.
Dallas television station WFAA reports investigators found evidence of multiple fires inside the Kennedale home. According to an arrest warrant affidavit, an arson dog sniffed out the possible presence of accelerants.
Federal authorities arrested Johnny Hummel while he was attempting to re-enter the U.S. from Mexico.
