A trip to McDonald's may cost a former Brenham high school football superstar his college football career and his freedom.

University of Texas receiver Brandon Collins, 20, has been kicked off the Longhorn team after his Saturday arrest in Pflugerville for armed robbery.

Authorities say Collins and two others robbed a customer in a McDonald's parking lot. Police say when they pulled over the suspected getaway car, they found a loaded pistol, cash and marijuana.

Collins hadn't played this season due to academics.

He was released from jail after posting a $35,000 bond.
