BURLESON (February 02, 2010)-Authorities responding Monday morning to a call of a “possible suicide” found the wife of former Dallas Cowboys tight end Jay Novacek dead in a home.
The Tarrant County medical examiner identified the woman as 45-year-old LeAnne Novacek, 45, whose home address was listed in the nearby town of Joshua.
Police said later Monday that LeAnne Novacek died from a self-inflicted gun-shot wound.
Jay Novacek was not at the scene when officers arrived.
Police say there was not a suicide note but have ruled out foul play.
Jay Novacek played for the Cowboys from 1990 to 1996 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame last summer.
