The Coast Guard says three people were rescued but one person died after a stranded boat capsized during rough water in Nueces Bay.
The Coast Guard says a 53-year-old man, whose body was beneath
the pleasure boat, was pronounced dead at a Corpus Christi
hospital. His name was not immediately released.
The Coast Guard late Sunday night reported it was contacted
around 7:30 p.m. Saturday by a woman reporting that a boat carrying
four people was disabled. The family decided to spend the night on
board. An hour later police reported the boat had capsized.
Another boater picked up three survivors from the water. A Coast
Guard helicopter and rescue swimmer located the capsized boat, with
the victim trapped beneath the vessel.
