Corpus Christi police have identified a 3-year-old boy who died after being hit while trying to run from the family's vehicle to the entrance of a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant.
Relatives say Eli Rodriguez was on his way to a birthday party.
Sgt. Tony Acevedo (ah-suh-VAY'-doh) says the accident happened Monday night in a parking lot when the boy darted out of a vehicle and was struck by a pickup. Police say charges are not expected to be filed against the pickup driver.
